Dear actually there is a separate recruitment in some departments but there are some intelligence agencies in India that does not recruit through open selection process and they selects some top and higher ranked police officers according to their performance in the civil service and make them intelligent of the intelligence agencies

IB - Intelligence Bureau Officer Recruitment : Home Ministry of India conduct IB - ACIO - Assistant Central Intelligence Officer Recruitment every year for national level services and you can apply for this examination if you posses following eligibility criteria

A bachelor's degree in any stream from a reputed institute or university or any other equivalent qualification

You must have good knowledge of working on computer systems with proficiency

Age should not be less than 18 years and more than 27 years and relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates

Candidates belonging to PH - Physically Handicapped, PWD - Person With Disability need not to apply

You have very good opportunity to apply for this examination before - 12-08-2013 so you should visit at www.mha.nic.in and fill up online application form before the mentioned date and pay the fee either through online or offline mode and make your eligibility for examination

Examination Pattern : There will be two papers conducted in this examination in a day where Paper I will be of objective type pattern and Paper II will be of descriptive type pattern and passing in both papers is necessary to be eligible for personal interview and personality test

Paper I - General Awareness, General Knowledge, Reasoning Ability, Comprehension, Mathematical Ability

Paper II - English Writing Skills and Analytical Ability

You will get 1 hour and 40 minutes to solve both papers where Paper I will contain 100 questions for 100 marks and Paper II will be for about 50 marks

After becoming Assistant Central Intelligence Officer, you will be posted to serve anywhere in India and after your service the high panel will check your performance and your promotion for another higher post will be analyzed on the basis of performance in service and you will become a officer of Intelligence Bureau

IPS Officer Recruitment : UPSC board conduct - Indian Civil Service Examination for various posts - IAS, IFS, IRS etc. where IPS Officer post is also included in this examination and you can give your priority for this post while main examination of this recruitment and this examination is conducted once a year in two following stages

Preliminary Examination - 2 objective type papers for 400 marks and passing in prelims is mandatory

Main Examination - 7 Conventional type papers conducted in this examination for 1800 marks and qualifying in each paper is compulsory

Personality Test - 275 marks and for those who qualifies each paper of main examination with minimum qualifying marks required by the board

Physical Endurance and Medical Standards Test - There will be a separate panel of experts (Physical and Medical Officers/ Doctors) who will check your status of physical and medical condition at that time and if your all standards found correct by the panel then you will be given IPS Officer rank but marks of main examination are also responsible for final selection so you need to get more marks to get no problem in your selection

Recruitment Process for Intelligence Agents in RAW - Research and Analysis Wings is the largest intelligence agency in India among all other intelligence agencies working - CBI - Central Bureau of Investigation, Intelligence Bureau, CID, etc. and all the personnel of RAW are responsible to serve the country by being a secret agent of India in various countries of the world that is why there is no open recruitment process in RAW for any post and all agents of RAW are hired by the RAW from various intelligence agencies and other services and agents and personnel of IB - Central Intelligence Officer, IAS - Indian Administrative Service, IPS - Indian Police Service, Commandant of the - CRPF, CISF, ITBP etc. are recruited for the post of secret agent of RAW in India and only those candidates are eligible who are ready to serve anywhere in the world.

Finally I would suggest you to choose anyone examination and start preparing for that exam because you have various choices here and you may be confused so choose your most interesting stream and get prepared for that examination but presently you must apply for IB - ACIO examination

I have uploaded recruitment notification of both IB and IPS Officer examination, please download and prepare well for both tests

    All the best
