if you complete the degree in the science field then you give the CDS exam.
degree complete from the recognized university.
exam conducted bi-annually
age limit: 19 to 23 years
no relaxation for the reserve category.
other wise the Indian air force open the vacancy directly as a diifferent-2 post.
which is different-2 qualification base and age limit.

There are two UPSC Exams through which you can join the Indian Air Force.
These two exams are:-
1.Combined Defence Services Examination
Eligibility for the Air Force Academy: Degree of a recognised University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.
Age limit for the Air Force Academy; 19-23 years.
2.National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination:
Eligibility For Air Force and Naval Wings of NDA and for 10+2 (Cadet Entry Scheme) at Naval Academy : 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a Sate Education Board or a University
Age limit: 16.5-19 years.

you have to write UPSC COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE (CDS) exam to join in IAF.
QUALIFICATION: bachelor degree of any stream.

CDS:-
The "Combined Defense Services" Examination or the CDS Exam is conducted twice a year by the UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION for recruitment into the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Naval Academy and Air Force Academy. The Notification for the examination is usually released in the months of October and June and the examination is conducted in February and September respectively. Only unmarried graduates are eligible to write the exam. Successful Candidates are admitted into the respective Academies after an interview conducted by SSB (service selection board).

Candidates successful in the written exam are then called for an interview by a service selection board which evaluates a candidate's suitability for a career in the Indian Armed Forces. The SSB interview lasts for approximately a week, during which a candidate undergoes various physical and psychological tests to ascertain whether or not he is officer material. Candidates cleared by the SSB are finally admitted into the above mentioned academies, and after successful completion of training, they are inducted into the armed forces.

(b). Educational Qualifications: Bachelor�s degree in any subject area with 60% Marks from a recognized University or Bachelor of Engineering / Bachelor of Technology of 4 years with 60% Marks. Candidates must be passed 12th Examination with Maths and Physics.
(c). Physical Standards: Minimum height: 162.5 cms with correlated weight, Leg length: Min-99 cms. Max-120 cms. Thigh length: Max-64cms. Sitting height: Min-81.5 cms. Max-96 cms. Vision � 6/6 and 6/9
Technical Branch:
(a). Age Limit: 18 to 28 years as on 01/07/2013 i.e. born between 02 July 1985 to 01 July 1995 (Both dates inclusive).
(b). Educational Qualifications:
i. Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) AE (L): Candidates applying for AE(L) branch would be eligible if they have undergone a minimum of four year degree qualification from a recognised university or cleared sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Instituion of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate Membership examination of the Institue of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies.
ii. Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) AE (M): Candidates applying for AE(M) branch would be eligible if they have undergone a minimum of four year degree qualification from a recognised university or cleared sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Instituion of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate Membership examination of the Institue of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies.

Branch Qualification Administration and Logistics Graduate degree in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate of all papers put together or a Post Graduate degree/equivalent diploma in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together. Accounts Graduate degree in Commerce (B.Com) with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate of all papers put together or a Post Graduate Degree in Commerce (M.Com)/CA/ICWA with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together. Education Post Graduate Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together.

AFCAT Selection Procedure:
Eligible candidates who apply with proper details will be called for AFCAT which will be conducted on 26/08/2012 (Sunday). Candidates who qualify in this test will be called for further test which will be done in three stages, Stage-I: Intelligence Test, Stage-II: Psychological Test, Group Test and Interview, Stage-III Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT).
Medical Examinations: If you are recommended by selection Board, you will be sent for the medical examination either at Air Force Central Medical Establishment (AFCME), New Delhi or Institute of Aviation Medicine, Bengaluru.
All India Merit List: An All India Merit List is compiled on the basis of your performance in the written test and AFSB interview and subject to being medically fit. Based on the vacancies available in various branches / sub branches, joining instructions are issued to join one of the Training establishments.
