-the registration number plays a very major role in keeping oneself updated with the status of the application form.
-in case you have misplaced it,you can check your e-mail id which you had provided while filling in the application form.
The upsc mails you the registration number and the password,once you have completed all steps of filling the form.
So you can get it back from there.
-if you still don't make it and are unable to get it back,you can explain your situation and write it to the officials of upsc.

I think you are referring to online viewing of your UPSC form if I am correct.


When you Fill the part 1 form on UPSC's site it generates a unique no called registration ID(RID). They send this RID no to your mail ID.Check your mails to find the registration ID and then check the details of your form.

dear friend no need to get worry,while getting regestration as you will be providing your email id they will send you a msg with reg number so plase check out that once.

dear registration number is very important you should keep it safe,

if anyhow you forgot your registration then you can retrieve it from your e-mail ID,
if still you do not get your registration no. then you can mail to officials of the upsc and write your situation of yours in it.
also you can contact to the officials between 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
