civil services examination is the most toughest to crack . Each year huge number of students appear for this exam and number of vacancies is relatively less. just look at the following statistics to know about the toughness of this exam.
According to annual report of UPSC,
number of candidates who appeared for civil services preliminary exam in 2009 - 1,93,091
out of these candidates only 11,514 candidates cleared the preliminary exam and appeared for mains examination.
Out of these only 875 candidates were selected for recruitment.
only 131 candidates got IAS post.
These statistics is shocking, but you can definitely clear this exam with well planned, hard and consistent work.
