i want to join the indian airforce or indian army how can i apply for that . i m 3rd year student of electronics & communication engineering do technical digree have any benifits in both .

For the recruits in Air Force and Indian Army you have to clear the UPSC CDS exam. For CDS exam you can apply only in final year of engineering or after completing Engineering.

you can apply for CDS( combined defense services examination ) conducted by UPSc twice a year. but not now only after completion of your course or final year of studying. your degree is not beneficial because in the exam only your English language , maths and general knowledge skills are tested. It will be beneficial once you join

u r apply for CDS for join forces after graduation and CDS Exams are also conducted twice in an year.The exams are conducted for the recruitment of candidates in Indian Military Academy,Officers Training Academy,Naval Academy AND Air Force
AGE LIMITS.
For IMA : 19 To 24 Years.
For OTA : 19 To 25 Years.
For NAVY : 19 To 22 Years.
For AIR FORCE : 19 To 23 Years.

To join the armed forces you must appear in the combined defence forces exam conducted by the UPSC.

CDS is generally conducted two times as CDS-I and CDS-II.

the notifications will be generally published in the months of june and october.

by writing CDS you can join the army,navy,airforce,OTA etc.

you can write the exam either after completing your degree or in your final year.

you will have scope to use your knowledge once you get selected.

A technical degree specially a engineering have a great value in defence.
In fact let me tell you that nearly 70% entry in all three defence sections is for engineers.Engineers have huge advantage over any degree in admission to army,navy,air force.

Now there is a entry called as UES(University Entry Scheme) which means entry only to third year engineers ,in all three wings.
UES is specially for the third year candidates only,i mean engineering candidate only.

You must apply for that.

Apart from that while being in the forth year you can apply for other entry such as CDSE ,AFCAT for admission in air force and army.

CDS exam stands for combined defense services which is conducted by UPSC twice in a year to join following;-

Indian military academy,
navel academy, air force academy, officer training academy

Age limit for CDS exam;-

Indian military academy;--19 to 24 years

Officer training academy;- 19-25 years

Navel academy;-19-23 years

Air force academy;-19-22 years

You must be physically as well as mentality fit.
