Dear friend,
some suggestions:
you start the preparartion with the basic bookslike ncert.once your basic concepts are clear then you can go to the high levelbooks.
you should allocate sufficient time for preparationand dont rush through the syllabus.
first choose the optionals based upon the interest, availability of books, availability of guidance etc..
once you have chosen the optionals then you can start preparin them intensively covering whole of the syllabus.
so no shortcuts.work hard no other option is available.
consisitency is very importatnt to crack thecivil services exam.
you should daily prepare your current affairswithout any break.
dont read too much material.make notes for allthe topics and revise them regularly.
practice how to write answers also and try to manage time while writing answers.
all the best![]()
1) first choose 2 optional subjects. Take a firm decision on this. Look at the syllabus of list of all subjects, take some topics and read basics of that subject. Analyse if that subject suits you, if you can understand the concepts, especially if you like that subject. Only if you like, then you will put more effort to study.
Dont change your optionals often
2)Buy some standard books for that subject and a technical dictionary if you are going to choose any of the technical subjects such as geography, physics, etc
Dont read too many books . Stick to 2 or maximum 3 standard books
3) prepare a neat timetable for each subject, topic wise and then execute properly.
4) Whenever you finish a topic, then check the previous year question paper if any questions asked from that topic. If so, try writing the answer fro that question. Writing practice is very much required for this preparation. Time management is crucial as you have to write for 300 marks in 3 hours
