1.Posts in geological survey of India.
2.Posts in central ground water board.
Tentative schedule:

>>conduct of examination: november.
Requirements:
1.Age limitations:
>>Your age should be between 21-32 years on 1st january of the year of examination.
2.Master's degree in following streams are applicable for this exam:
>>geology
>>marine geology
>>marine exploitation
>>hydrogeology from a recognised university.

UPSC Geologist Exams is held for TWO Caregories :
Category 1 - Posts in Geological Survey of India.
Category 2 - Posts in Central Ground Water Board.
Upsc conducts these exams once a year.
Eligibility :
Educational Qualifications :
1.Masters Degree in Geology/Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a recognised University.
2.Diopla of Associateship in Applied Geology of Indian School of Mines,Dhandad,or
3.Masters Degree in Minerals Exploration from arecognised Universityy(for posts in GSI), or
4.Masters Degree in Hydrogeology from a recognised University(for posts in CGWB)
Age Limits :
Age should be between 21-32yrs for general category and relaxation for reserved
category is applicable for OBC by +3yrs and for SC/ST by +5yrs.
Exams Procedure :
The exams consists of 2 parts
Part 1- Written exams - Candidates of both categories have to appear in following Papers :
1.General English-100marks
2.Geology Paper 1-200marks
3.Geology paper 2-200marks
4.Geology paper 3-200marks
5.Hydrogeology-200marks
Candidates have to appear in papers 1 to 4 for category 1 and
for category 2 they have to appear in papers 1 to 3 & paper 5.
Part - 2 -Interviews for Personality Test-200 marks
