Re: I am from Gujarat. Which exam should I write between GPSC and UPSC?
=>GPSC stands for Gujarat Public Service Commission .
=>GPSC takes the various exam for the post of various Gujarat government posts in group-1 , group-2 , group-3 .
=>There are no fixed date for the GPSC exams , the advertisement are published based upon the vacancy created .
For the Group-1 post the criteria is below :
=> one should complete the graduation from any recognized university .
=> A final year student also eligible for the exam .
=> Age limit :
For general cast :21-28
For obc cast:21-31
For sc/st cast : 21-33
=> The exam pattern is similar to UPSC exam .
=> UPSC exam are taken for the recruitment in various central government posts in group-1 , group-2,group-3 .
=> UPSC exam are taken every year , it has fixed time table for the exam .
=> The criteria for the UPSC exam is below :
=> minimum graduation is required.
=> Age limit :
For general cast :21-30
For obc cast:21-33
For sc/st cast : 21-35
=> So if you prepared for UPSC exam then you easily crack the GPSC exam .
=> For my point of view you should go for UPSC exam and whenever there will be advertisement for the GPSC exam then give it also .
good luck

Re: I am from Gujarat. Which exam should I write between GPSC and UPSC?
Dear, Go for both but in regards of power UPSC Officers has more than the GPSC Officers. For UPSC you have to work hard in comparison to GPSC. After getting Selection in GPSC you can work within Gujrat but if you join UPSC you have to go any place in India. UPSC officer's received much more salary and power in comparison to GPSC. So, its better to go for UPSC... Good Luck....

Re: I am from Gujarat. Which exam should I write between GPSC and UPSC?
UPSC & GPSC both will provide you a high position post in government .
Through GPSC you can get the post of class -1 , class-2 officer in various Gujarat Government Departments .
While through UPSC you can get the post of class-1 , class-2 officer in Central government post like IAS , IPS , IFS etc .
Both the exams are very hard and have tough competition .
Both exams have the same papers style , same eligibility criteria .
In compare to GPSC , UPSC exam is very tough because in this exam lakhs of candidates are appearing in all over the states .
As both the exam have the same exam structure , if you go for the UPSC preparation then you will not take some extra effort for GPSC preparation .
So for my point of view you should go for UPSC exam .
Because UPSC exam comes in every year while there are no fixed date for the GPSC exam so it is better to go for UPSC rather than GPSC .
Whenever GPSC exam will come you give that exam also .
So start your preparation for the UPSC exam nowonwards .
good luck

But I will suggest you to appear in UPSC exam.
