dear friend,
for dentist post you have to apply for UPSC CMS (Combined Medical Services) Exam. in CMS only MBBS graduate can apply.
this year CMS Exam already have been Conducted. and now it is conducted in next year(2013). and UPSC has not released notification for UPSC exams.

UPSC does not conduct any separate exam for dentists like combined medical services exam.
In combined medical services exam only MBBS qualification is eligible.
But UPSc recruits dentists for central govt. dental colleges. The recruitment is based on available vacancies in different govt. dental colleges.
recently UPSC issued such notification for assistant professor(dentistry posts) in Lady Hardinge college,NEw DElhi
Qualifications:
1) post graduate degree in dental surgery
2) 3 years teaching experience
3) age limit not exceeding 40 years for general category
for dentist,
you have to apply UPSC CMS EXAM.
CMS EXAM STANDS FOR COMBINED MEDICAL SERVICE EXAM
TO JOIN THIS EXAM;-
you must be passed mbbs degree.
final year student are also eligible for this exam
maximum age limit is 32 years.
this year exam is already conducted.
so just wait for next year exam

If you are a dentist then you should give the COMBINED MEDICAL SERVICE EXAM.
This exam is also conducted by UPSC once in a year.
ELIGIBILITY FOR CMS
**PG degree in Dental Surgery
***Degree must be from recognized university
***Age must not excedded 40 years.

There is no special examination held for the dentist by the Union public service commission.
CMS is the combined medical services is the only exam organised by the UPSC for the MBBS students in different streams.
So,being a dentist you can also give the CMS exam.
The basic eligibility criteria for the CMS exam is as below:
>>You must have completed your MBBS in both respects that is practical and theoretical.
>>Final year candidates can also apply for the exam.
Age limitations:
>>Your age should not be more than 32 years .
Minimum age limit is 21 years.
