for IPS you need graduation in any discipline with any percentage from recognized college or University. final year pursuing candidates are also eligible to apply for the exam.For the post of IPS you have to write Civil Services Exam. the exam is conducted by UPSC every year.


Civil Services exam conducted in three parts:
1. CSAT(Prelims)
2. Mains
3. Interview


your age must be within 21 years to 30 years on 1 August of the year of exam. there is relaxation in upper age limit up to 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

There is no such subject called IPS,it is a post for which exams are conducted.Now you need to choose your subjects upon which you will be giving your IPS exam.
There are various options of subjects for applying in IPS.

Although you can visit to the website of UPSC
www.upsc.gov.in,there is a link named as previous year question paper,you will get all the question over there.
