    List of books for IAS exams. Details about various stages in IAS recruitment?

    Hi,

    New to IAS Exam Preparation
    Currently I am working and I am very much interested in writing the IAS Exams.
    I got to know what are all the different stages and papers there in it .

    I am planning to write it for next year 2014.

    Could you please suggest me a way and list of books that I need to refer for proceeding in that ?

    There are preliminary and mains stage for IAS exam. You have to prepare in different way for both stage because prelims is objective type and mains is descriptive type paper.

    The last stage is interview and personality test which will assess your personality. This stage also carries marks so you have to prepare for this stage properly.

    -Geography � Spectrum

    -Indian Polity � Constitution of India by Bakshi

    -Indian Economy � Plus One, Plus Two Books, Pratiyogita Darpan

    -General Science � Tata Mc Graw Hill Guide

    -Mental Ability � Quantitative Apitude by R.S. Aggarwal

    Current Affairs:

    -The Hindu/The Times of India

    -Frontline

    -Civil Service Chronicle

    -Chanakya
