Generally, UPSC doesn't ask dob and name on photo but it depends on the application rules. So do what UPSC has asked while filling the form. Nothing more and nothing less.

Dear as for as my views and experience are concerned that UPSC board never ever ask for that photo at which the date of birth and name should be displayed during to upload the photograph because we also have applied for UPSC exams many times and qualified as well but we have never required for this type of photo and any other information regarding this.

But you should have your recent passport size photograph means your photograph should be in the size of passport and should not be more than 1 month old and if you will upload old photograph then you will face the problem and your photo should be scanned well without any scar or spot and that should look decent and the size of the photograph should be of the following size

Hight of the photograph - 140 pixels
Width of the photograph - 110 pixels
Size of the photograph should not be more than 40 KB - Kilo Bite

For Signature image :

Width of the signature - 140 pixels
Hight of the signature - 110 pixels

Both scanned images should be uploaded properly in the application form in either .jpg or .png format

UPSC does not ask for date of birth and name on photo.Generally SSC asked this. And if UPSC will demand than it is clearly mentioned on the notification which is given on the website www.upsc.gov.in, Please visit here and find out all the details regarding any post before apply.

yes friend if you are filling a form like NDA,then you need to mention the date of birth.if depends on which upsc exams you are planning to opt for.
**better to read the instructions before filling the form carefully and follow the guidelines.
