See preparation for both exams UPSC & MPSC is same because both follow the same pattern of exam and also the selection procedure is same.
As now you have finished with your schooling and must be joining any graduation college, so you have at least 3 to 4 year for year for these exams.
You can start your preparation from now onwards only as this exam is not a piece of cake.
It requires a lot of hard work. If you prepare from now you will have maximum chances of clearing the exams in first attempt.
If you can prepare yourself well and good but If you feel any problem You can join some good coaching Institutes which will give you a proper guidance towards the exam.
Not much to worry just follow correct books of good publications.
You can start reading newspaper and magazines. These will help you a lot in your mains exam.
Editorial reading is must, This will also increase your vocabulary part.
Pattern of exam is as follows:
You will have prelims known as CSAT which is a written exam and of objective type.
Second is mains which you can give only if you clear your prelims. This is subjective exam.
Third is Interview stage.
