Hello Friend,
For a school going kid, my advice is to study hard. Do not mug information as mugging can sail you through the school exams but from the perspective of passing UPSC exam, you should focus on understanding things. You should inculcate habit of asking questions in the classroom. If you are of shy nature, then you will be doing harm to yourself by not asking questions about the things that you don't understand. You should understand that you go to school to learn and not to study. At this juncture, I would rather suggest you to prepare a solid base for your future endeavours. You can start by reading NCERT textbooks for various subjects like history, geography, economics, polity etc. Also, read a good newspaper daily. You can choose among The Hindu, The Indian Express etc. Wish you good luck for your future endeavours.
There are no shortcut to success !!
Thanks,
