can i do preparation for mpsc/upsc along with a mechanical engg.?

hi i am vishal i secure 76% in h.s.c, now i am doing engg. in mechanical . but but my dream to go in a civil services. i like subjects of art facaulty like social scince, political science economics etc.
plz suggest me can i do preparation for civil services

Yes sure you can prepare for civil services exams and you may choose any two subjects whatever you wish means if you are interested in Arts Field then you can choose that subject for your mains exam but you would be eligible to choose the subjects only after qualifying the prelims examination means if you got failed in your preliminary exam then you would not be allowed to appear for mains exam so you have to qualify the prelims examination first which contains 2 papers for 400 marks and you would be given 2 hours for each paper and both papers would be conducted at a day announced by UPSC board and after qualifying the prelims examination you may choose any two subjects of the following :

You can choose any two subjects of the above mentioned and you have to face 9 papers in mains examination and qualifying in each and every paper is most necessary so that you should prepare hard and this section contains 2000 marks then you would be called for interview if you successfully qualify this section also.

Interview Process also contains 300 marks which would be added to the marks of mains exam.

If you have a bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognized university and your age is between 21-30 years then you can apply for Civil Services Exams and those candidates who are appearing in final year may also apply for this exam and relaxation in age as per government guidelines.

You can appear in Civil Services Exam after the completion of Graduation in Mechanical Engineering.

However, you can also appear if you are in Final Year of your Graduation.
