The main function of drug inspector is to inspect the quality of medicines which is sold at different markets,places,medicine stores and also at the manufacturing unit.If he found that there is something phising then he may send the drug for the testing in laboratory.
Drug inspectors are selected through the entrance examinations which is conducted very year at state level by state government and at national level by the UPSC.

Age should not be less than 18 years but some states demands 20 years minimum age limit and more than 35 years but some of the states keeps it 40 years and provide upper age relaxation for reserved category candidates that is why you should consider it around 20-35 years of age
