Is it right that EEE students needs to qualify GATE in order to get a Government Job?

I am a final year B.Tech(EEE) student. I want to get a government job and I know that there are so many government jobs for eee students but so many peoples are saying that now it is necessary to qualify the GATE exam to get any government job.so please clarify, It it right?

Dear friend,

Yes it is true that you have to qualify in Gate exams for getting job in government sector for PSU's like BHEL, SAIL, NTPC, NHPC, ECIL, AP TRANSCO, e.t.c. So if you want to work in top PSU's then you have to qualify in Gate exams. There are lots of jobs in both private and public sector and search the best option for you.

No GATE qualification is not necessary for a Govt job except some like ISRO, BARC, NTPC & BHEL who have started recruiting on basis of GATE score this year. BUT ISRO & BARC also conducts written exam followed by interview for non GATE students. GATE students need not appear for written exam but are eligible for interview directly based on cut-off marks decided by the organizations.
You can apply for Govt jobs if you are not GATE candidate without any worries.

Actually, on behalf of GATE exam only, you can't get Govt Job. The students bearing GATE qualification can be preffered rather than other students. For Govt, job, you have to clear the exam conducted by UPSC or other Agency.

NO,it is not necessary to be GATE qualified however it put some weightage to your selection probability if you are a GATE qualified. It's an added arrow in your bow.

no,it is not necessary for all government jobs to qualify GATE.
There are lots of jobs comes under UPSC exams. so you can try for UPSC exams.

You have heard it wrong!! After qualifying GATE exam you are eligible for interviews in some PSU's like SAIL, BHEL ,GAIL, NTPC etc.

But It's not the only path for a government job for an engineer.
You can get the best of government jobs only through the UPSC Exams; all you need is hard work and smart strategies.

Here is the list of exams for which you are eligible:
1.Civil Services Exam
2.Engineering Services Examination
3.Combined Defence Services Examination

The best option for you in these exams would be the Engineering Services Examination.
Eligibility criteria for the engineering services examination:
A degree in Engineering from a recognized university or eqivalent. M.Sc Degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communications, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as special subject acceptable for certain Services/posts only.
And an age limit of 21 - 30 years.

infect after passing the GATE you will be eligible for the public sectors unit for interviews.

upsc does not requires any special quality of such type.

upsc requires only the graduation degree from a govt. recognized university.and the candidates must be an indian.

no,it is not so much necessary for a getting a governemnt job foe EEE TO compete GATE examination.

GATE stands for graduate aptitude test in engineering.

2.NTPC

3.ISRO

4.ONGC

5.SAIL

6.GAIL. has made the criteria for recruitment in it that if you have qualified GATE with good ranks you will directly recruited with just a personal interview.

simply qualifying GATE exam is not necessary to get a job,
but as far as government jobs in public sectors like BHEL,
NTPC,
NHPC,
ECIL, etc are concerned then you have to clear GATE exam first then only you will be getting such jobs,
