Selection Process of Indian Forest Service Examination :
Preliminary Examination : No separate preliminary examination by UPSC board for Indian Forest Service Examination but candidates those who wish for Indian Forest service mains examination, will have to qualify preliminary examination of civil services conducted by UPSC board for various posts and if you qualify civil service preliminary examination that includes two different papers of objective type pattern and each paper contains 200 marks then you will be shortlisted for mains examination of Indian Forest Service and if your marks are enough according to the requirement then you will definitely get a call letter for mains examination of Indian Forest Service and there will be following papers conducted in mains exam of IFoS :
Mains Examination : All papers will be conducted in conventional type pattern
Paper I - General English - 300 marks
Paper II - General Knowledge - 300 marks
Paper III, IV, V and VI will be conducted on the basis of those two subjects that will be selected by the candidate as optional for mains examination and you may choose any two from the following list :
Agriculture
Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science
Agriculture Engineering
Botany
Chemistry
Chemical Engineering
Civil Engineering
Forestry
Geology
Mathematics
Mechanical Engineering
