You have a opportunities in both Civil service and Defense services both the examination conducted by UPSC only.
As a Computer Science engineer you are eligible to apply.
You can enter both the above fields but the syllabus is same quite opposite for both the examination.
Better to make sure that prepare for any one examination because of SYLLABUS different
There will be a Great opportunity in Civil service but also Defense services.
Choice is depends on your own interest.

A B.TECH CSE student can join the defense in various ways,to tell you the truth a B.TECh CSE student have numerous opportunities in the defense sections,every engineering student go for the defense,there are many opportunities for the engineering graduate in the defense sections.
You can join the defense through the entrance exam that is conducted by the UPSC,it is called CDSE.
CDSE-stands for the Combined Defense Service Examination-through CDSE you can enter in to all the four academy,from where you can get in to all the three wings of the defense.
Through CDSE you can enter in to the
~IMA-Indian Military Academy-the qualification required is graduation from any stream.
Age Limit-19 to 24 years(at the time of commencement of the course)-a entry in to the army-a entry in to the defense section.
~OTA-Officers Training Academy-the qualification required is the graduation from any stream.
Age Limit-19 to 25 years(at the time of commencement of the course)-a entry in to the army-a entry in to the defense section.
~AFA-Air Force Academy-the qualification required is the graduation from any stream but with physics and maths in 10+2.
Age Limit-19 to 23 years(at the time of commencement of the course)-a entry in to the air force-a entry in to the defense section.
~NA-Naval Academy-the qualification required is B.SC(physics and maths) OR ELSE B.TECH degree.
Age limit-19 to 22 years(at the time of commencement of the course)-a entry in to the navy-a entry in to the defense section.
Other than these there are entrances like AFCAT,TGC.

the graduation is the minimum criteria with age limit- 21 to 30 years for general candidate,5 years and 3 years upper age relaxation for the SC/ST and The OBC.
