Dear friend,
It will be always a good option for you to choose from within a biology subject such as the BOTANY or ZOOLOGY as one of the Elective subjects.
However its best recommended to end up electing an arts subject as the 2nd option.
Subjects as such as the INDIAN HISTORY,PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION or the POLITICAL SCIENCE are very scoring and also help you excel in the interviews.
Now the option is yours.

No Matter in which subject you have done Graduation. The Minimum Qualification for the UPSC examination is Graduation.
There is a UPSC Mains subject in which you have to select the subjects.
There are 51 Optional Subjects that can you take in UPSC Mains Exams.
If you want to take the subjects of science stream then you can take Physics, chemistry etc.
Otherwise you can select Commerce or Arts Subjects.
