INDIAN FOREST SERVICE (IFS) IS THE EXAM CONDUCT BY UPSC ,HELD ONCE IN A YEAR.ITS A 10 DAY PROGRAMME.

NEW SCHEME OF EXAM=IFoS will be 2 tier examination similar to that of civil service examination.
*civil service (preliminary) exam shall serve as screening test for both civil service and indian forest service
*notification of IFoS WILL be done simultaneously with the civil service examination .
*application can be called as combined online application form for civil service and IFoS EXAMINATION.

*ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA WILL BE REMAINS SAME



ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR IFS=

1)AGE=21-30 YEARS

*SC/ST=RELAXATION UPTO 5 YEARS.

*BC=UPTO 3 YEARS

*BLIND DEAF-MUTE/PHC=UPTO 10 YEARS.

2)EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION=ANY BACHELOR DEGREE HAVING AT LEAST ONE OF THE FOLLOWING SUBJECTS=

ANIMAL HUSBANDRY, VETERINARY SCIENCE,BOTANY,CHEMISTRY,SCIENCE ,GEOLOGY,MATHEMATICS,PHYSICS,STATISTIC,ZOOLOGY,AGR ICULTURE FORESTRY,AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING ,FORESTRY ENGINEERING,chemical,civil engineering,mechanical engineering .

3)NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS=GENERAL=4 TIMES.

SC/ST=NO RESTRICTIONS

BC=7 ATTEMPTS.

*WRITTEN EXAM

a)paper 1)general english=300 marks

b)paper 2)general knowledge=300 marks

c)paper 3,4,5,6=any 2 subjects listed above(200 marks from each paper set)

total=1400 marks

You can apply if you meet the below eligibilty conditions:
Education
Graduation pass and in Graduation you should have studied at least one of the below subjects :
Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics,
Physics, Statistics, Zoology

or
Bachelor�s degree in Agriculture, Forestry

Or
BE/Btech pass

Age-
Minimum age to apply is 21 years
Maximum age to apply is 30 years
OBC can apply till 33 years
SC/ST can apply till 35 years

Attempts-General Category candidates can apply for 4 times
OBC category candidates can apply for 7 times
