Hello,
UPSC has not notified the changes till now. So, I don't think that they will do this year. They might do it from next year but it will be notified well in advance. And don't believe in rumours.

Dear aspirant - We have no information about your query means about UPSC board that they are planning to remove optional subjects from the list of mains exam and if there would be any activity related to remove the system of optional subjects then we would definitely inform you but presently we haven't seen this type of information at any source and we have not read any article or line about to chance the optional subjects from the list of mains exam in any book or any news paper so that how can we tell you about this.
If there would be any change then UPSC board definitely publish this information and provide in entire India through news papers, news channels and Internet on the official website but there is no information regarding this query so dear sorry to say that we can not help you at all about this.

no dear UPSC does not panning to remove optional subjects from Mains exam. Optional subjects for mains exam is still same. UPSC has removed optional subjects from the prelims exams.

Well dear upsc was planning to remove the optional subjects from mains but as far as this year they have not done anything like that.
They have already removed the optional subject from the prelims.
If they remove it from mains also then they will introduce common papers which will be compulsary to every one.

dear now UPSC have not any change in optional subjects. So, you will have to choose that subjects which UPSC mention for mains exams.
