there is simple difference between them.
admit card contains full detail your exam as well as your information.
your name
exam name
exam place
exam code
roll number as well as application number

on the other hand;-
this card is used to find your admit card.
this card contains your detail and application number of your application form.

Receiving a Acknowledgement card means that the application or any other documents you sent is received by the concerned authority.

Receiving a Admit card means that you are provisionally selected for a examination/interview.

Acknowledgement Card is for the acknowledgement of the candidate.

Acknowledgement card used to send the information about your draft no.,receipt no.,name ,address to the Institution where you apply.

This card is send with the Application form .

Admit card is the card sent to the candidate home by the institution after getting the Acknowledgement card.

So do not Confused in the names.

The acknowledgement shows that your application is received by the upsc board or where you apply any application you got from the acknowledgement from the other side. It means your application has submitted successfully for the further process.

Admit card shows that your application eligible for the exam and your requirements ,term and conditions suitable for the exam and board give you the hall ticket that is the admit card. On admit card show your roll number, examination center number and the address. Without admit card you do not enter the examination hall.

Admit card is like a hall ticket, it will allow you to sit you to sit for the exam. This is the card that you must take to the exam, to gain entrance into the hall.
Acknowledgement card is the one that will be sent to your mail confirming that you have applied for the exam once you fill the exam application.
Acknowledgement card can be a receipt if you paid the fee. So, it the admit card that you must have while going for the exam.

Whenever you send an application, the receiving authority may send an acknowledgement card that your application is received by that authority.
UPSC does not issue any such acknowledgement cards for competitive exams, since it is a online application you will know instantly. Suppose you are manually sending an application for exams like GATE, CAT etc, along with application you will also have to send a self addressed card. After your application is received, this self addressed envelope will be sent back to you. Thus acknowledgement card symbolizes that your application is received and accepted for verification.
On the other hand, admit card is sent, when your application is verified and accepted, a card is sent with your photo and other exam details. You have to produce this admit card at the exam centre, only then you will be allowed to take the exam. UPSC does not send admit cards, instead the candidates have to download from the website. ADmit card symbolizes that your candidature is accepted and you are allowed t take the exam

are totally different from each other.

now a days upsc has stopped sending the acknowledgement cards for the upsc examinations.
these acknowledgement cards were send to applicant of the upsc examination
to assure them that there upsc application has been successfully reached to upsc.

the admit card you may know is that without which
you can not write the examination at you examination center.
admit cards are still send by upsc to the aspirants at their postal address .
if you do not get you admit card by post
then you can get your admit card from the official upsc website www.upsc.gov.in
for this you have to be aware of your registration number and date of birth .
