    What is the the difference between Civil Engineering and Civil Services Exam?

    I am very confused .Please help me .I want to know whether Civil engineering and civil services exam is same or different.

    Civil engineering basically deals with the design,construction and maintenance of built works like roads,bridges,dams,building,canals,etc.
    It is a type of professional engineering.
    whereas,
    Civil Services is an exam conducted by the UPSC for filling the honourable posts at the centre such as the IAS,IPS,IFS,Revenue officers,Indian Postal Service and some grade A posts in railways.
    These exams are conducted in two phases-prelims and the mains,,so as to choose the best deserving candidates.

    Every year the UPSC carries out the Civil Services Exam for the selection of candidates in the IAS, IPS, IFS and also other areas.

    Civil Services Exam Exams Pattern

    --Most of the exams carried out by the UPC will have a written exam which includes questions at Graduate level.
    --The civil Service exam will have a Preliminary Examination for the selection of candidates.
    --The syllabus of the Preliminary will be from the graduation level syllabus.
    --It will be mostly objective type question.
    --The syllabus will include GK and awareness, English, quantitative, analysis aptitude etc.
    --The candidates who have cleared the preliminary exam are only allowed to appear for the Main Examination.
    --After qualifying the Main exam candidates will also have to go through the Interview process.

    civil engineering is a diploma or deegre course while civil service exam is a carried out by UPC which can be given by graduate students

    These two are ways apart buddy.Civil Engineering is a branch of engineering field whereas civil services is an exam conducted by upsc to get jobs in the govt sector in areas like Administration,Engineering,Forest Services,Economical Services,Foreign Services,Army,Navy,etc.

    civil engineering is all about wer you learn about the construction of the houses or any other constructions ,civil services is the exam conducted by the upsc for recurement to various caders ,such as ias,ips,ifs and total 20 top caders.

    Both are different fields Civil services is for administrative service and Civil engineering is for engineering disciplene where some construction or module held.

    Civil engineering and Civil services Exam ,both are completely different things.

    Civil Engineering is a field of engineering concerned with construction of buildings and other structures. Civil Engineers mainly work to provide stability to structures designed by the architects.
    While Civil Services Exam is an exam conducted by UPSC for recruitment of top bureacrates and officers for Government departments.

    Civil service and civil engineering are both different with each other.

    Civil engineering is type of the academic qualification. it is the part of the B.Tech.

    B.tech has done in number of the stream civil engineering is one of them. it is four years graduation course.

    civil service is the entrance exam with the help of the exam the candidate got the position like as ias, ips,ifs etc.

    for the civil service exam the candidate passed the graduation in any stream from the recognized university which is approved by the ugc/aicet.

    age limit for the exam 21 to 30 years.

    civil services exam is competitive exam which is conducted by upsc,
    candidates who completed graduation or engineering form a recognized university can apply for the civil services exam,

    whereas civil engineering is a type of engineering which is related to construction of buildings and roads.
    you have to give exams like AIEEE or IIT or NIT etc to take admission in civil engineering.
