    Hi Aspirant

Well their is different between both the departments

UPSC : Means Union Public Service Commission

And on the other hand TNPSC: Means Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission

As their name suggesting their work

The upsc department is a center department which is recruiting

For the posts like from Ias,Ies,Ips

And on the other hand Tnpsc is a state level department

And recruiting only at state level

And different to the upsc department

And you can join as dsp at both levels

And the salary level of the upsc is more as compare to any other

But their is not a big difference but their is a little bit

Difference as upsc is a center level exam and the tnpsc is a state level exam

But you have to work hard for both if you want success

Also their is a difference that the job will be given to any part of the country

If you are recruited through the upsc department

And but on the other hand in the tnpsc the job is given only in the state of tamil nadu

    Best of luck

In UPSC, straightaway you are an IPS and after training given post as ASP.
In TNPSC, you are not an IPS, and inducted as a DSP.
Differences in terms of salary , but powers are same.
when you enter as a DSP, after 8-9 years of good and honset work, you can become an IPS officer by promotion.

    Dear friend,

UPSC conducts exam for all india services

TNPSC conducts exam for state level services.

after qualifying for IPS under UPSC, you will be immediately posted as an SP of an district.

but after qualifying TNPSC you will not get the equal rank immediately.you have to wait for promotion.

so it would be better to aim for upsc to get coveted postings.

    all the best
