upsc railway exam is known as s.c.r.a. exam . In this exam there are 3 papers that are general ability , physics and chemistry, and 3rd one is mathematics. .S.C.R.A full form is SPECIAL CLASS RAILWAY APPRENTICES
1.candidates must have passed Intermediate or an equivalent examination in first or in second division.
2.Mathematics and at least one of the subjects Physics and Chemistry as subjects of the examination.
3.The candidates aspiring for the SCRA exam must have attained 17 years of age and must not have completed 21 years on 1st August of the year of examination.

Its the SCRA exams conducted by the UPSC which is responsible for the enrollment of successful candidates in a four year course of Mechanical Engineering,after which they are placed in as Grade A railway officers.
Candidates who have passed out there intermediate exams with PCM combination and are of 17-21 years of age are eligible to apply.
One must be prepared for the following three papers to qualify.
-GENERAL ABILITY.
-MATHEMATICS.
-PHYSICAL SCIENCES(physics and chemistry)

S.C.R.A. exam means Special Class Railway Apprentice examination .
This exam is conducted by Union Public Services Commission(U.P.S.C) to recruit candidates in Indian railway.
ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS:-
-- CANDIDATE MUST BE INDIAN CITIZEN.
-- CANDIDATE MUST HAVE PASSED INTERMEDIATE EXAM WITH FIRST/SECOND CLASS FROM RECOGNIZED BOARD.
-- CANDIDATE MUST HAVE STUDIED MATHEMATICS & AT LEAST ONE SUBJECT FORM PHYSICS/CHEMISTRY IN INTERMEDIATE LEVEL.
-- MINIMUM AGE REQUIRED IS 17 YEARS TO APPEAR IN THE EXAM.
-- A CANDIDATE MUST NOT ATTAIN THE AGE OF 21 YEARS.
-- UPPER AGE LIMIT IS RELAXED FOR SC/ST , OBC CANDIDATES.
-- SC/ST- 5 YEARS, OBC- 3 YEARS RELAXED UPPER AGE LIMIT.

EXAM PATTERN:-
EXAM GOES ON TWO STAGES.
1)Written test
2)Personal interview
Written test consists of 3 objective papers.
Each paper having 200 marks.
Total mark in personality test is 200 marks.
Candidates who are qualified in written test are called for personality test.
Objective / Multiple choice types of questions are asked.
All questions are of +2/equivalent standard.
