Of-course you can apply for the examination of your age. The AGE LIMIT of IES examination is 21 to 30 years on 1 August of Exam Year i.e. if you appear in 2012 IES exam then you must have been born not earlier than 02 August 1982 and not later than 1 August of 1991.

First of all you have to tell about your degree of engineering that in which branch you have completed your B.tech. There are four category in which candidates fill up the form :
Category I�Civil Engineering.
Category II�Mecahnical Engineering.
Category III�Electrical Engineering.
Category IV�Electronics & Telecommunication
Engineering.

MECHANICAL
ECE
EEE

and with this the condidate must fullfill the age eligibility i.e

for IES you have to complete Engineering degree(B.tech) with any one stream from Civil, Electric, Mechanical, Electronics & telecommunication.

Age Limit:

your age must be within 21 years to 30 years.

And there is relaxation in UPPER AGE limit for reserved category candidates(3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates).


if you satisfy all the conditions then you are eligible for UPSC IES exam.
