    Am I eligible to appear in Indian Engineering Services exam having passed B.Tech with Bio-Medical Engineering?

    Hi...... I finished B.Tech(4 years) in Bio medical engineering.... can i able to attend the UPSC Engineering service exam.... If am eligible to attend the exam means how can i mentioned my subject in application form becox they dont mentioned the bio medical engineering at all .... If its possible means tell me plz.. how can i mention my quqlification.......plz give some suggestion.......

    you u r eligible for IES exam.Mention bio medical engineering as ur qualification.There are specific vacancies for bio medical engineers for bio tech research and development.Visit the site www.upsc.gov.in for further details.

    Dear aspirant,

    * Yes , you are eligible to appear in IES.

    * You can write your qualification as graduate with Btech or equivalent.

    u r not eligible.
    must have B.E/B.Tech with civil or electrical or mech or e & t oly can apply for IES.

    Hello friend,

    I am sorry to tell you that you are not eligible for giving this examination as your B.Tech degree is of
    Bio Medical engineering.
    Look at the eligibility criteria which is given below,after that you will have a clear idea about this examination.

    ***********Eligibility Criteria************

    For giving this examination the candidates must have a degree of engineering from any recognized university or any organization and the final year students can also apply in this examination.

    The engineering degree in the following Discipline:

    1.ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
    2.MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
    3.CIVIL ENGINEERING
    4.ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING


    or equivalent qualification from any recognized organization.

    M.Sc candidates can also apply in this examination but only specific branches .

    ******AGE LIMIT******

    The age limit for the candidates is ranges from 21
    to 30 years the upper age limit relaxation will be given as per government rules.
    3 years for
    OBC candidates
    5years for
    SC/ST candidates.

    Sorry Bio-Med is not a stream in IES but you can opt for IFS and other relevant posts in upsc.Most importantly,you can apply in IAS.Good Luck!

    IES stands for Indian Engineering service.
    This exam is conducted by UPSC.


    Sorry to inform you that you are not eligible for IES examination.

    Eligibility:-

    Educational qualification:-
    --You must be a graduate with engineering course from following streams.
    1)Civil Engineering
    2)Mechanical engineering
    3)
    Electrical Engineering
    4)Electronics and Communication Engineering

    --Final year candidates are also eligible to apply in the exam.

    AGE LIMIT:-
    --Age limit for appearing in this exam is 21-30 years.
    --Upper Age limit is relaxable to OBC,SC/ST candidates.


    NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS:-

    FOR GENERAL CATEGORY-4
    OBC-7
    SC/ST-UNLIMITED

    As you are not fulfilling the eligibility criteria you are not eligible for IES examination.

    sorry you are not eligible for ies exam as the exam requires engineering in mechanical,civil,electrical and communication .

    Hello Aspirant

    Sorry to sat that you are not eligible to write

    The Indian Engineer Services exam as for the exam

    Either you have done Your B.tech In civil,electronics or Mechanical

    Or in electronics and telecommunication

    As you have not done your b.tech in the above so you are not eligible to write the exam

    But you are eligible to write the upsc Cse exam for the post like Ias

    For the exam you need to be pass in graduation from a recognized indian university

    And the age limit is 21-30

    And relaxation for the obc of 3 years and for the sc.st of 5 years

    I'm sorry to say that you're not eligible for the Engineers Service Exam because only Civil engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & tele-communication are allowed!

    Hi Aspirant,

    Yes friend, the candidates of B. Tech Bio medical can apply for Indian Engineering Service exam.

    IES exam is conducted through UPSC every year at national level

    In this year IES exam was held on 15/6/2012.

    You can apply for IES exam in next year 2013.

    You should satisfy the Criteria of IES exam.


    Criteria for IES exam

    You should be graduate in any technical degree from UGC recognized university( in distance mode university should be recognized by IGNOU and DEC)

    You can apply for IES exam only in following stream

    Mechanical

    Electronics and Telecommunication

    Electrical

    Civil

    You should be in age of 21 to 30 years

    Age relaxation to eligible category

    SC/ST + 5 years

    OBC + 3 years

    PH + 10 years

    You must be Indian.



    You can apply for the UPSC exam through UPSC website

    Yes you are eligible for the IES exam as the criteria is any candidate with graduation in engineering from recognized university can apply for it..

    The below are the only Streams under the INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICES

    The streams are

    <> Electrical Engineering

    <> Civil Engineering

    <> Mechanical Engineering

    <> ETE ..etc.,

    The candidate must have the above stream as his qualification

    Only those candidate can apply which has passed his graduation in engineering.

    Engineering Fields such as :

    • Civil Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Electrical engineering
    • Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering
    Age Limit :

    Candidate must be into 21-30 years .3 years age relaxation for BC candidate , 5 years age relaxation for SC/ST candidate and 10 years age relaxation for Physically handicapped candidate.
