    Dear if you think that aspirants should have any type of specific knowledge or skills to prepare for IAS examination then you are absolutely wrong because complete questions and examination based on some particular topics and subjects that are asked in examination so you should prepare for those subjects and qualify examination

    I have listed all topics and subjects that are mandatorily asked in Prelims and Main examination please read : ​

    Preliminary Examination - Two papers - 200 marks for each and objective type

    Paper I - General Studies - 2 hours duration

    Current Events of National and International Importance
    History of India and Indian National Movement
    Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the world
    Indian Polity and Governance - Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues
    Economic and Social Development - Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives etc.
    General Issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity, Climate Change
    General Science and Technology

    Paper II - CSAT - Civil Service Aptitude Test - 2 hours of duration

    Comprehension
    Interpersonal Skills including Communication Skills
    Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability
    Decision Making and Problem Solving
    Basic Mental Ability
    Basic Numeracy - Numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc. , Data Interpretation - Charts, Graphs Tables, Data Sufficiency etc. - Class X Level
    English Language and Comprehension Skills

    Main Examination - Seven Conventional Type papers are included in main exam

    Paper I - Section I - Essay for 200 Marks, Section II - English comprehension for 100 marks

    Paper II - General Studies I - Indian Heritage and Culture, History and Geography of the world and society

    Paper III - General Studies II - Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International Relations

    Paper IV - General Studies III - Technology, Economic Development, Bio-Diversity, Environment, Security and Disaster Management

    Paper V - General Studies IV - Ethics, Integrity and Aptitude

    Paper VI - Optional Subject Paper I

    Paper VII - Optional Subject Paper II

    All these six papers contains 250 marks for each and total marks - 1800 for all seven papers

    I you personliaty . In your language . Moving of your body .

    Dear Aspirant

    In order to become an IAS you need to be have basics knowledege of everything whether it is social science subjetcs like history,civics,geography or science subjetcs like Physics,Chemistry.It is the only exam that tests your subject knowledge as well as basics understanding of everything.In order to tell you more about it I am exaplaining you about this

    Civil servcie examination is conducted by UPSC every years.Those who crack it are selected for various posts and services like IAS(Indian Adminisntrtaive Service),IPS(indian Police Service ) and IFS(Indian Foreign Services) and several are appointed in Group A & B services.It is the only examination which has so much vast syllabus as it selects a person who have real aptitude for government services.I am briefly highlighting the examination pattern from that you may infer what you need as a knowledge

    The examination is conducted in two phases Preliminary examination and then main examination.In order to be eligible for main examination you have to qualify Preliminary examination .Preliminary examination consits of two papers.These are and their syllabus are mentioned below
    Paper 1 200 marks Duration 2hrs of MCQ types questions
    Paper 2 200 marks Duration 2hrs of MCQ types questions
    Paper I of preliminary examination consists of following syllabus
    1)Current events of national and international importance.
