UPSC conducts civil services aptitute Test (CSAT) to fill 24 posts which includes IAS, IPS, IFS etc
Min educational qualifications to appaer in the exam- Graduation pass
Min age-21 years
Max age-30 years OBC candidates gets 3 years age relaxation
SC/ST candidates gets 5 years age relaxation
No of attemps- 4 for general candidates, 7 for obc candidates and no restrictions on SC/ST candidates
Exams are held in 3 stages
-Prelims
-mains
-interview
Next prelims exams will be held in May 2013
forms for prelims will be available in Feb 2013

In prelims there will be 2 papers
-Paper 1 -general studies of 200 marks time -120 minutes
-Paper 2 - general mental ability, comprehension, maths, reasonung, english of 200 marks time- 120 minutes

--> Then fill the form manually, then post it to the respective address.
--> Now from 2012, everything is made online.
--> Visit the official website of UPSC.

--> You will get the application form for your desired exam.
--> Fill the form carefully with correct details.
--> It is recommended to read the instructions once or twice before you start filling the application.

--> You are give an RID i.e Registration ID when you successfully completes the registration.
