Hello,
You can give Civil Services exam to get into railways. Railway Personnel Service, Railway Accounting Service and Railway Traffic Service are included in it.
You can give IES exam. Engineers are recruited for railways also through this exam.

Hi,As far as railways job is concern through UPSC,is conducting SCRA exam for the same.SCRA stands for SPECIAL CLASS ES RAILWAYS APPRENTICE cnducted by UPSCELEGIBLETY CRITERIA:-#.you should have to passed 12th class from the recognized board.with Mathematics and at least one of the subject Chemistry and Physics as subject of the examination OR Graduate with mathematics and at least one of the subject Physics and chemistry as their degree subject#.Age Limits:Age should be between 17-21 yearsOBC 17-24 yearsSC/ST 17-26 yearsEx-servicemen 5 years#.you should be indian.Good Luck.....

To apply for this examination , you need to satisfy minimum eligibility criteria of this examination ::
# Candidate need to be Citizenship of India .
# The candidate must have a minimum education qualification for the examination is Intermediate / HSC / 10+2 Pattern with Physics , Chemistry and Mathematics of reputed Institution and No minimum marks required to apply .

Dear UPSC board conduct only one separate exam for railway department which is following as :
SCRA - Special Class Railway Apprentices
You should have passed in class 12th with mathematics and physics as a compulsory subject and any one of the - Biology/Chemistry/Computer Science from a recognized board and if you are appearing for your 12th class exams then also you are eligible to apply for this exam
your age should not be less than 17 years and more than 21 years and relaxation in upper age would not be provided to any category candidates
If you have above mentioned qualification then you can apply for UPSC SCRA exam 2013
Examination Pattern for SCRA Exam 2013 : There would be following papers conducted in this exam :
1. General Ability Test - English, General Knowledge and Psychological Knowledge - 200 Marks
2. Physical Science - Physics and Chemistry - 200 Marks
3. Mathematics - 200 Marks

UPSC conduct only one exam of the railway sector and that exam is SCRA.
SCRA means Special Class Railway Apprentice
Eligibility criteria is
candidate Should have passed 12th with one compulsory subject maths.
candidate who are appearing their 12th exam are also eligible for SCRA 2013
Age criteria is
candidate must be in between 17 to 21 year
3 year relaxation for OBC and 5 year for SC/ST
Candidate should be Indian

The only UPSC exam that provides gateway to the railway department is the SCRA exam.
SCRA stands for for the Special class railway apprentice examinations.It is conducted every year in the month of January by the UPSC.
The eligibility criteria for the SCRA examinations are :
>.10+2 passed/appearing with PCM as compulsory subjects from a recognized board.
>>You age should be between 17-21 years.
>>You must be an Indian citizen.
The examination pattern for the SCRA exam is as below:
