good mannerisms
polite
diligent
soft spoken
good decision making ability
problem solving ability
should be easily approachable by public for greivence redressal
humane approach
h/she should uphold the constitutional values
should not be arrogant or anarchist

For becoming an IAS officer, you need to be having certain traits which says that honesty hard working and a will to serve your company in a better way is compulsory.
Moreover in order to become an IAS, you need to be a graduate and your age should be in between 21-30 years.
There is a relaxation given to the obc and the sc/st candidates of 3 ad 5 years respectively in the age criteria.
