IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service.
The exam is conducted by UPSC.
For this exam candidates can apply only up to 30years. but their is relaxation to SC/ST students.
After selection of candidate as IAS officer then 30years service is must for candidate to serve for public.
hence, at 60 or 62 years IAS officers get retirement.
I.A.S stands for Indian Administrative services.
The retirement age of an I.A.S Officer is 60 years.
The age was raised from 55 to 58 in 1962 and to 60 in 1998.
IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services .IAS exam is conducted by UPSC every year .This Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission.
Educational Qualification :-
Graduation Degree in any stream from a recognized university , the final year students also eligible for applying preliminary examination
Age criteria :-
General Category 30 years
Other Backward Classes (OBC) 33 years
Scheduled Tribes / Scheduled Tribes 35 years
blind, deaf-mute and orthographically handicapped persons 40 years
Attempt Limit:-
General Candidate can maximum 4 Times
OBC Candidate can Maximum 7 Times
SC/ST there is no attempt Limit
When your age is 58 years old , at that time you have retired from IAS officer rank .But you can mange others jobs with the help of your experience .
