Passive components and characteristics Resistors, Capacitors and Inductors; Ferrities, Quartz crystal Ceramic resonators, Electromagnetic an Electromechanical components.
Physical Electronics, Electron Devices and ICs :
Electrons and holes in semiconductors, Carrier Statistics, Mechanism of current flow in a semiconductor, Hall effect; Junction theory; Different types of diodes and their characteristics; Bipolar Junction transistor; Field effect transistors; Power switching devices like SCRs, CTOs, power MOSFETs; Basics of ICs � bipolar, MOS and CMOS types; basic to Opto Electronics.
Signals and Systems

Analog Electronic Circuits :
Transistor biasing and stabilization. Small signal analysis. Power amplifiers. Frequency response. Wide banding techniques. Feedback amplifiers. Tuned amplifiers. Oscillators. Rectifiers and power supplies. Op Amp PLL, other linear integrated circuits and applications. Pulse shaping circuits and waveform generators.
Digital Electronic Circuits :

Control Systems :

IES stands for Indian Engineering Service.Hi Aspirant,
UPSC conducts the IES exam once in year for the post of engineering service.
Required Qualification for IES exam
You should have B. Tech and BE degree from any recognized university or its equivalent.
UPSC doesn�t required any certain percentage in any class or graduation.
You should be in age of 18 to 27 years.
Age relaxation to eligible category
SC/ST + 5 years
OBC + 3 years
PH + 10 years
You must be Indian.
