The IES exams conducted by the UPSC are not that easy to crack.As on offer are the best technical posts at the centre,so the level of competition is very high.
The total marks for this exam is a 1000.
So my advice to you is to know your subject to its depth.
Selective study won't help at all,,as the exam covers a very vast syllabus and no section can be avoided.
You also need to practice a lots of model papers to get used to its pattern.
Therefore,leaving any topic might be inviting trouble for yourself.
So prepare for everything for best results.
