Hi Aspirant,
Friend there is no specific syllabus for BDS student in Civil Service exam.
You can not choose BDS as optional subject. BDS is include in the list of optional subject.
You can choose the medical science as optional subject.
Actually friend for Civil mains exam you will have to choose two optional subject as per your desire.
Civil Service exam is the quite tough exam and have need of special dedication for the preparation of Civil Exam.
Syllabus of Civil exam
Preliminary exam (400 marks)
General studies (200 marks)
General English (200 marks)
Mains exam (2000 marks)

Interview (300 marks)
After qualifying written exam you will be called for Interview.
I am attaching the detail syllabus of Civil exam here.
In this year mains exam is going to be held on 5/10/2012.
So you can not apply for CS exam in this year.
UPSC will release the notification for civil exam in the starting of next year.
So you should keep regular check on UPSC official website
