Dear for your kind information you should know that - UPSC board never ever announced the cut-off marks for any exam or any paper and it is hide by UPSC so that how can we tell you about the exact cut-off marks for any paper or any exam but the selections always done around these following percentage in the exam

    1. General Category Candidates : 60% and Above

    2. OBC Category Candidates : 56 to 58% and Above

    3. Scheduled Caste Candidates : 53-55% and Above

    4. Scheduled Tribe Candidates : 50-52% and Above

These percentage marks are expected means not confirmed and marks are mentioned of both mains and interview process means there is no part of your preliminary exam.

Last year cut-off marks for IAS exam were 306 marks out of 400 marks so you have to prepare hard for this exam and don't worry about the cut-off marks because if you will prepare well for your exam and really dedicated to your study then you may easily qualify the exam but you have to join any coaching institute for preparation and prepare hard for this exam because the Civil Services Preliminary Exam dates has been announced which are following :

Start Date for Online Application : 02-02-2013

Last Date for Online Application : 04-03-2013

Date of Commencement of Exam : 19-05-2013

I have attached the complete syllabus for this exam please download.

    All the best
