It is approximately 45 minutes but can stretch sometimes to 1 hour also. It depends upon the nature of questions and the way the candidate answers. Civil Services interview is not focused only on the knowledge of the candidate which is already tested through the written test. It wants to test the administrative aptitude in the candidate. It examines the presentation style and the manner in which the candidate addresses the questions. During the Interview, the candidates are advised to maintain their cool even under pressure.

In this process interviewer check candidate's General Knowledge and Aptitude Knowledge

They ask the question from Candidate's interest.

Should be sit comfortable and give answer easily without hesitation.

upsc exam contains three stages;-

-*-*-*preliminary exam

-*-*-*-*mains exam

*- -*-*-*-*interview

after clearing preliminary as well as mains exam,
students are called for interview.

The duration of interview is about 1 hours.

Interview means the questing of a persons.

In interview, interviewer asks every types of question to check that students are eligible for that particular post.

Friend, Interview of UPSC exam is nearly about 45 minutes.but it can be goes on 60 minutes or also falls down to 30 minutes according to the questions asked and what you responding.

it is depend on the interviewer. how much time he spent on the candidate.
other wise normally the interviewer take the 30-45 min for the interview.
