There is no separate exam for IAS. You have to write Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC. Based on the rankings you will be placed as IAS.

After the preliminary exam the mains exam held in the month of October or November.
The qualification is required for the exam:-
Candidate must have graduate in any stream from the approved university.
Age limit for the unreserved category is the 21 to 30 years
Age relaxation for the obc category is the 3 years and sc/st category is the 5 years.

UPSC Civil services Preliminary exam for 2013 is conducted in the month of May.
USPC declared the results for the preliminary examination on August 3,2013. The mains examination is scheduled to begin on December 1, 2013.
Online filing of Mains Forms date - Aug 20 to Sep 10.
Next UPSC Civil services 2014 notification may be out by 17th May 2014 and prelims exam is on August 24, 2014.
The last date for the receipt of application form will be June 16, 2014.
The Civil Services (Main) Examination 2014 would commence from December 14, 2014.

the next upsc exam is now in the month of November, the IAS mains exam thereafter there will be the CDS exam in February and then the NDA exam in the month of march, followed up by the upsc civil services examination prelims in the month of amy and then there will be the IES exam in the month of june
