    UPSC conduct Civil Services Exam for the post of IAS. For Civil Services you need graduation.

    Coming on your question, you can clarify your doubts from your friends who also preparing for the Exam. also there are various online sites which provide free coaching for Civil Services.

    UPSC made changes in the pattern for Civil Services Exam. Now there is no optional subject in Prelims and now you have to choose one optional subject from the list of optional subjects. Now General Studies given more weightage than Optional Subjects.


    Civil Services has three phase and you have to clear all the phase:

    1. Prelims(CSAT)
    2. Mains
    3. Interview

    Scheme and subjects for the Preliminary and Main Examinations
    A. Preliminary Examination
    The Examination shall comprise two compulsory papers of 200 marks each.

    B. Main Examination
    The written examination will consist of the following papers:

    Section 2 English Comprehension

    Paper-II

    Paper-IV

    General Studies �III 250 Marks
    (Technology, Economic Development,

    and Disaster Management)

    Paper-V

    General Studies �IV 250 Marks
    (Ethics, Integrity and Aptitude)

    Paper-VI

    Optional Subject � Paper 1 250 Marks

    Paper-VII

    Optional Subject � Paper 2 250 Marks

    Sub Total (Written test) 1800 Marks

    Personality Test 275 Marks.
    Grand Total 2075 Marks



    Eligibility Criteria For Civil Services:

    >>you must have completed or appearing in final year of graduation.

    >>your age must be within 21 years to 30 years on 1 August of the year of exam. there is relaxation in upper age limit up to 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.



    Limit Number Of Attempts:

    >>General category: 4 attempts

    >>OBC category: 7 attempts

    >>SC/ST category: No Limit

    CSAT(Prelims):

    date of Notification:05.03.2013

    last date of receipt of application:04.04.2013

    date of exam:26.05.2013



    Mains:

    date of exam:01-12-2013

    Dear Aspirant

    You can clear your doubts regarding pattern of examination,syllabus ,choosing optional on this forum or visit UPSC official websites(www.upsc.gov.in) but if you have doubt in your concepts then ask your doubts from the professors who have taught you in the university or have a friend circle where you can share your subject doubts
