Criteria for IAS Exam is given below:
Age Limitation: Candidate should be between 21-30 years
Age relaxation for:
SC/ST : 5 years
OBC : 3 years
State of Jammu and Cashmir : 5 years
Defence Services Personnel : 5 years
Ex-Servicemen : 5 years
Educational Qualification: Candidate must be Graduate from any recognized university
Numbers of Attempts:
For General Candidate 4 Attempts
For OBC Candidate 7 Attempts
For SC/ST Candidate No Limits
Examination Schedule:
It consists of main exam Written test and interview.
The main examination comprises of Nine papers.
Paper-I : One of the Indian Language to be selected by the candidate from 22 languages. : Marks 300
Paper-2 : English : Marks 300
Paper-3 : Essay : Marks 200
Paper-4 & 5 : General Study (300 Marks Each) : Marks 600
Paper- 5,6,7,8,9 : Any Two subject to be selected : Marks 1200
(Each having Two Papers & 300 marks for each paper)
Interview (in the medium you choose) total marks 300
So now you can not apply, but you can start coaching for preparation the examination.
You can select your optional subject in which you are interested and can start the preparation.
You should never depends on other person about selection the subject. It depends on your interest.

First complete your graduation properly.
And, with your graduation studies, if you can get some time for UPSC preparation, then do work on CSAT part, read regular Newspaper like 'The Hindu' and any carrer Magazine Like 'Chronicle', 'Pratiyogita Darpan' or 'Frontline'.

You have just Passed class 12th, su you should first complete your Graduation.
As you know minimum eligibilty to apply for the UPSC Civil services exams is Graduation pass
Age should be between 21 and 30 years for the General candidates
First complete at least 2 years of your Graduation and than in the 3rd year you can think of preparing for the UPSC Civil services exams.
If you are studying your Graduation subjects well, than you are in a way preparing for those subjects.
Also may be there may be few changes in exam pattern of UPSC.
So just right now concentrate on Graduation only
For IAS you Need to hold graduation degree and after 12th you get it and for the preparation you can start it in the final year of your graduation and then you can give the exam.
You can take those subjects which you are comfortable at.
