Hello,
Psychology says that the recency and frequency of any event increases the chances of that event to be recalled at a later time. When you do a last minute revision, you are able to cover only a part of whole syllabus, may b 2 or 3 chapters. Due to this, when you face an abstract question in the exam, you start thinking about the question in terms of only those 2 or 3 recently revised chapters and thus limiting your creativity and knowledge.
If you are addicted to last moment preparation, my advise would be to prepare a gist of all th chapters of such length that you can revise it whole at the last moment.
Thanks,
