Well,,you will be eligible at the moment you complete your B.tech/B.E.
Since according to eligiblity criteria of UPSC :
>> You are eligible when you have completed your Graduation
>> You must have age more than 21(that would be i am sure), but not exceed 30(that wouldnt happen right now).
You may also appear in this exam when you have appeared in your 8th semester, since after that you get eligible, since you will have the pass out certificate when you get ready for Mains.

Final year students are also applicable.
However all candidates will have to appear from within Electrical Engineering,Civil Engineering,Mechanical Engineering & Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. 04. SEX. Irrespective of sex,all candidates are eligible to appear for the exams.
05. NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS. There is no restriction upon the number of attempts if you are eligible for the exams.

Yes, you can definitely appear for the IES examination. The IES examination is conducted for only the four trades, i.e., Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics Engineering. But you must pass the Bachelors degree on the above four trades at any recognized university. The age limit is 21-30years. The upper age limit is 03years for OBC candidates and 05years for SC/ST candidates. Thanks.....

Yes, you are eligible to apply for UPSC IES exam after completing graduation in Mechanical Engineering. you can also apply for IES while appearing in final year of graduation(B.Tech/B.E).
Eligibility Criteria:
1. You need to complete or appearing in final year of graduation in Engineering in any field from recognized college or university.
2. Your age must be within 21 years to 30 years. There is relaxation in upper age limit for reserved category: 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST.

mechanical engineering is a four year course so you are not eligible for that right now but you can apply for civil services next year as according to the eligibility criteria for upsc civil services exam final year aspirants can also apply for upsc civil services exam.
for upsc civil services exam your age should be 21-30 years if you are general category candidate.
along with that obc and sc/st candidates gets an age relaxation of 3 and 5 years respectively.

Mechanical engineering is of the streams for which you can appear for the engineering services exams
this exams is held only once a year
Min age-21 yrs and max age-30 years, obc and sc/st gets 3 years and 5 years age relaxation

In this exam there are 5 papers of 200 marks each
Paper 1 -General Ability Test
Paper -2 and 3 objective mode in your subject

the eligibility criteria for ies examinartion is an engineering degree from an ugc recognised university/college in any of the following engineering:-
civil,mechanical,electrical,electronics and telecommunication engineering.
since you have completed b.tech from mechanical engineering, you are eligible to write for ies exam

YES YOU ARE ELIGIBLE FOR APPLYING IN IES EXAM.
The educational qualification required for applying in IES exam is a engineering degree in any stream,as you are doing engineering in mechanical stream,then you are definitely eligible for applying in IES exam.
But as you are in 3rd year,you are not eligible for applying for it,you can apply being in 4th year.Hence wait for one more year to apply.

No minimum marks required in BE/BTECH

yes dear you are eligible for ies examination if your age lies between 21 to 30 (for general), since the educational qualification required for the exam is an engineering degree or an m.sc degree. this would be easy for you since mechanical is an optional subject in this exam so it would be easy for you to tackle.

And Yes you'll be eligible for IES Exam after completing graduation in mechanical engineering.

you can give the IES exam, if you are a graduate from any of the four following fields
mechanical engineering
electrical engineering
civil engineering
ECE.
You can also appear in the exam being into the final year of your engineering but you cannot appear in the exam being in the third year of your engineering.
Moreover you also need to fulfill the age criteria that your age should not be less than 21 years and not more than 30 years. However, a relaxation of 3 and 5 years is given to the obc and the sc/st category respectively
