You can join any bachelor degree that is relevant to your current stream of intermediate.
If you want to become IPS officer then minimum education qualification is any bachelor Degree from government recognized University.
If you are in science then select B.sc after intermediate and start preparation from 1st year of bachelor Degree.
If you are in commerce then select B.com or B.A.

I will advice you to go for B. Sc. with govt. recognized university because this is the only field which gives you extra time for UPSC preparation. If you will in other higher studies like Eng., Pharmacy, it will not give you time for preparation during course duration.
Dear if you wish to become an IPS Officer in India then first of all you will have to complete following eligibility criteria according to the official notification of IPS exam announced by UPSC board
>> A bachelor's degree in any stream or subject from a recognized and accredited university by UGC or AICTE and your age should be between 21 - 35 years and relaxation in upper age as 2 years for SC/ST and 1 years for OBC category candidates
Apart from this eligibility criteria you should also have following eligibility to apply for this examination
>> Candidate must be the citizen of India
>> Have completed five years of continuous and actual service as Deputy Superintendent of Police in states under state police service or Assistant Commandants in Para Military Force or Officers of the rank of Captain or Major or equivalent in Armed Forces
>> Should have an unblemished service record
So you may see that what are the actual requirement of defense ministry for IPS Officer post because this is the highest rank in police service and mostly all IPS Officers gets the post of the leader of RAW, IB and CBI etc. that is why you should be in police service already means you can not apply for this exam directly
First of all you will have to prepare for any examination of police service as SI then you will have to get final selection in that exam and start serving the country and start your preparation and keep appearing for departmental examinations and keep your record fresh and if you will perform well then you will be promoted soon in police service and then you will get higher rank or officer post and you will be eligible to apply for IPS examination
