- Age criteria forms one of the basic requirement for applying for the UPSC exam. Various exams are conducted by UPSC and the age limit varies with respect to exam.
- Civil service exam is most commonly referred to as the UPSC exam. The minimum age requirement for any category is 21.
- The category to which one belongs decides the maximum age for applying for exam.
- If you belong to general category then you can give attempt to the exam till you are 30 years of age.
- Backward caste and most backward caste people can apply till 33.
- Scheduled caste, defence person, physically challenged and scheduled tribes can apply till 35 years
- No one can apply at age greater than mentioned above .

For NA 19 - 22 years
For AFA 19 - 23 years
For OTA 19 - 25 years
3.National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination- 16.5 - 19 years
4.Engineering Services Examination- 21 - 30 years
5.Civil Services Exam- 21 - 30 years
6. Indian Forest Service Examination- 21 - 30 years
7. Special Class Railway Apprentices Exam- 17 - 21 years
8.Central Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination-20 -25 years
9.Indian Economic/Indian Statistical Service Examination- 21 - 30 years
10.Geologists' Examination - 21 -32 years
Except for the Defence Services Examinations, the upper age limits are relaxable in the case of candidates belonging to the

In each exam there are different age limit for different cast .
NDA exam :
-> In NDA exam the age limit is 16.5-19 for all the cast
CDS exam :
