There are two ways to join the air force as a pilot
a)UPSC-CDSE and b)AFCAT.
Now in both the options the age limit is 19 to 23 years(at the time of commencement of the course).
Now the most important factor that should be noticed is that the age limit mentioned above should be when you the course is due to commence,but not at the time of applying for the course.
It nearly takes one month time to start the course from the date of applying for the course,hence the exact meaning of the entire story is that your age should be between 18 to 22 years at the time of applying for the course.

Here is the eligibility criteria for AFCAT exam-
Age- min 19 and max 23 years.
Qualification-BE/B.tech in any one branch.
Physical- min height 162.5 cm,leg length 99 cm,
For technical branch- age is extended upto 28 years.
Height-157.5 cms and weight should be according to height to weight ratio.
you must have min 60 % marks in graduation.
There are different types of branches-
Flying branch
Technical branch
Ground duty branch
Accountant .
You are eligible for AFCAT according to your age .
