To Become IFS Officer following Qualification is Required.

>> Bachelor�s degree with at least one of the subject:

But here you have to notice one point, i.e IFS is also included under Civil services exam from this year.

So, to become IFS Officer, one has to give the Civil services exam only.

The eligibility conditions remains same as like the Civil services exam.

One has to possess a valid degree from recognized University to give this exam.

Candidate must have attained 21 years of age and must not have attained 30 years of age for general category candidates.

Upper age relaxation for reserved category candidates is as follows:

The maximum age limit for OBC Category is 33 years.

The maximum age limit for SC/ST Category is 35 years.

Firstly prelims, which is used to screen the candidates for Mains exam.

The educational qualification required to apply for UPSC Indian Forest Service(IFS)Examination is a Bachelor�s degree with at least one of the subjects namely, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology.

Candidates having a graduation degree in Engineering, Forestry or Agriculture can apply as well. Candidates appearing for final year degree examination are also eligible to apply.



So, if you have studied atleast any one subject in the degree then you are eligible for the examination.
