yes , E &T engineers are eligible for IES examination held by UPSC . In the previous years it was not included in the IES but since it has also been added as an eligible breanch for IES examinatiion.

UPSC (Union Public Service commission) conducts Combined Medical Service Examination (CMSE) for the rank of medical officer in various Government Departments like Railways, Central Health Services, Municipal Corporation of Delhi etc.
The selection through Combined Medical Service Examination is through two stages:
Written Test: The written test is of 500 marks while personality test is of 100 marks.
Personality Test: Only the candidates who qualify the written test are called for personality test. The personality test is of 100 marks.

-Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering students are absolutely eligible to appear for the Indian Engineering Service[ IES ] exams,conducted annually by the June.
-You will also have the advantage to opt for this subject during the IES exams.
-The ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA of the IES exams are mentioned below-
{01} NATIONALITY.
You must be a citizen of India,
or,You must be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan,
or,You must be a Tibetan refugee settled permanently in India,before 1962.
{02} AGE LIMITS.
You must be 21 To 30 Years of age.
However,there is a relaxation of 5 years for the SC/STs and that of 3 years for the OBCs in the upper age limit.
{03} EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS.
You must hold a degree in Engineering,from a recognized university,or be a final year student in the same.
However,with whatever subject the you complete your engineering,you will have to opt from within the following FOUR subjects to appear the exam-
*Civil Engineering.
*Mechanical Engineering.
*Electrical Engineering.
*Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.
