Hi
You can appear for the IAS exam with hotel management degree. It require only graduate student. No restrictions with the branches
India holds a UPSC((Union Public Service Commission) examination every year to recruit a number of IAS, IPS officers.
It has three-step process i.e.
Preliminary Exam (Prelims)
Main Exam (Mains), and
Interview
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
1)A candidate should have a degree of graduation in any field from any recognized university.
2)A candidate in his final year is also eligible for the civil services exam. (IPS, IFS, IAS)
3)A candidate's age must be between 21 to 30 years. 3 and 5 years of relaxation for OBC and SC/ST respectively
To crack the exam, the preparation requires the right approach along with the right study materials and strategy. The preparation requires focused study rather than plain hard work.
You can read guide books like General Studies Manual, Indian Politics by Lakshmikanth, Ancient History by D.D.Kausambis, R.S.Agarwal [Arithmetic], Wren & Martin [English Grammar], Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation by Arun Sharma, etc.
You may even study journals and even watch television for important news reports. Reading English newspapers will also help the students to get a good hold on the English language. Always keep the syllabus and past five years question papers.
All the best...
Yes UPSC board required only graduates in any discipline from a recognized university with at least 50% marks means all those candidates who have completed their graduation or going to complete or awaiting for the announcement of the result of final year of the graduation can apply for IAS exam but the age of the candidate should be between 21-30 years and relaxation in upper age would be provided as per government guidelines which is applicable for SC/STs - 5 years and 3 years for OBCs and 10 years for PWDs and 5 years for EXSs
You can apply for IAS exam and if you will prepare hard for this exam then you can crack this exam at once but it is not easy to crack and to pass in this exam you will have to leave all other things and prepare for this exam concentrically and should give at least 15 hours for the study and avoid all those things which are not good for your study.
