For BE students UPSC conduct the examination that is called IES that means Indian Engineering Services.
Through this examination it recruit engineer for different services at technical label. So you can go for this
post through it. You can apply for this examination after completing engineering. But only four branches are
eligible for this. That branches are Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics
and communication engineering. If your branch is one of the above then you are eligible for it otherwise you
can not seat in the IES examination.

After that your post will be increase according to time and your experience as given below
1. At the joining Assistant Executive Engineer.
2. After that Executive Engineer
3. And then Executive Engineer (junior administrative grade)
4. After that Chief Engineer level-2 (equivalent to Director to Government of India).
5. Then Chief Engineer level-1 (equivalent to Joint Secretary to Government of India).
6. And finally Engineer-in-Chief (equivalent to Additional Secretary to Government of India)
